A 62-year-old Yorktown man died after state police said he attempted to drive across the Taconic State Parkway and was struck by oncoming traffic.

William T. Faint was driving a 2006 Ford Taurus east on Carpenter Road in East Fishkill Tuesday when he failed to yield the right of way to southbound Taconic traffic, police said.

Two vehicles, driven by Alan B. Kinghan, 60 of Croton-on-Hudson, and Rachel A. Rosales, 60 of New York City, struck Faint at the same time, police said.

Faint's vehicle spun until it struck a utility pole, police said, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Rosales and her passenger in a 2010 Toyota Matrix suffered non-life threatening injuries and were taken to Vassar Brothers Medical Center. Kinghan and his passenger in a 2016 GMC Sierra weren't injured.

East Fishkill fire Department, EmStar, and the state Department of Transportation assisted at the scene.
